Meet The World Aquaculture Society African Chapter (WASAC)  West African Region Selected Mentors for the Mentors-Mentee Program 2025 with Newly Appointed Chairperson and Committee Lagos, Nigeria July 15, 2025 


The World Aquaculture Society African Chapter (WASAC), West African Region, is pleased to announce the selected mentors and its launch of its Mentors-Mentee Program 2025, an initiative designed to empower and support both graduate and undergraduate students of Fisheries and Aquaculture across West Africa.

This annual program identifies experienced professionals and rising talents across the sub-region to serve as mentors, providing guidance, capacity building, and support for mentees embarking on careers in aquaculture science and fisheries.

The 2025 edition features a dynamic group of mentors, committee members, and a newly appointed Chairperson appointed by Dr. Lanre Badmus, the pioneer regional director for west Africa region, each representing diverse professional expertise and regional inclusivity across Anglophone, Francophone, and Lusophone West African countries.


Meet the Chairperson:

An experienced aquaculture development professional, Dr. Aladetohun has been named Chairperson of the Mentors-Mentee Program 2025, and will lead the initiative toward regional excellence, inclusivity, and professional growth.
