The World Aquaculture Society African Chapter - West African Region (WAS-AC WAR) is pleased to officially announce the appointment of Dr. Nike Oluwafunmilayo Aladetohun as the Chairperson of the Mentor-Mentee Program.
This strategic appointment reinforces the Chapter’s commitment to building leadership capacity and fostering intergenerational knowledge transfer across the aquaculture sector in West Africa. Dr. Aladetohun, an esteemed academic, development expert, and accomplished professional, brings with her a wealth of experience in youth empowerment, stakeholder engagement, and aquaculture development across the continent.
As Chairperson, Dr. Aladetohun will lead efforts to design, implement, and scale the Mentor-Mentee Program — an initiative that seeks to connect emerging aquaculture professionals with experienced industry leaders to enhance technical skills, innovation, and regional collaboration.
