WASAC-WAR IN COLLABORATION WITH AQUATIC HUB AFRIQUE MEETS WITH THE FORMER PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA, CHIEF OLUSEGUN OBASANJO GCFR (GRAND PATRON OF CAFAN) ON THE 2ND REGIONAL CONFERENCE ON AQUACULTURE SCHEDULED TO TAKE PLACE IN ABEOKUTA, NIGERIA 16TH-19TH OCTOBER, 2022
In preparation for the upcoming 2nd regional conference of the World Aquaculture Society African Chapter West Africa Region in collaboration with Aquatic Hub Afrique Network tagged, “Sustainable Aquaculture Development for Livelihoods in West Africa.”, the first of kind in Nigeria (Host Country).
The Regional Director (Lanre Badmus), LOC chairman (Prof. F.I. Adeosun), Chairperson Budget and Planning committee (Mrs. Funmilola Shelika), CEO Aquatic Hub Afrique (Sir Steve Okeleji), Head of Programs Aquatic Hub Afrique (Mr Olalekan) and Member of Budget and Planning Committee (Miss Ayokunle Oredein) paid a courtesy visit to former president of Nigeria and the grand patron of catfish farmers association, Nigeria (CAFAN), Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR to officially invite him to the opening ceremony of the upcoming conference taking place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential library, Abeokuta, Ogun state, Nigeria.
The Ex-president lauded the
efforts of the WASAC-WAR on bringing the prestigious event to Nigeria which
will serve as a positive platform to synergize and share Nigeria’s Aquaculture
potential and success with the rest of the world. He also promised to support
in whatever way he can to make sure the conference gets the right attention and
goes on hitch free as proposed.
The West African aquaculture
industry will witness a first of its kind in-person conference that will
feature hundreds of world class speakers and delegates around the globe on
science, technology, aquaculture governance and the role of law in aquaculture
development.
